After completing the full 500-hour course and meeting the required assessments and attendance criteria, students receive a certificate from Abhayaranya Yoga Ashram accredited by Yoga Alliance. They may then register as RYT 500, though the registration itself is optional and requires a separate fee paid directly to Yoga Alliance.
Age Requirement
Participants must be 18 years or older. There is no upper age limit, provided the student is physically fit and mentally sound.
Skill Level
The course is suitable for beginner to intermediate yoga practitioners. A committed attitude and willingness to learn matter more than advanced postures.

Set on a peaceful hilltop above Patna Waterfall in Rishikesh, the ashram is surrounded by greenery and forest trails. Its natural, eco-conscious environment supports deep meditation, inner awareness, mindfulness, and self-study, creating the right atmosphere for immersive learning.
Each day begins with early morning meditation, followed by yoga classes, workshops, and philosophy sessions led by experienced teachers. Karma yoga is also part of the routine, encouraging humility, presence, and discipline through selfless service.
The residential setting offers a distraction-free space for practice and rest. Comfortable rooms with essential amenities, along with freshly prepared sattvic meals aligned with ayurvedic principles, support balance, nourishment, and a sense of community.
This 500-hour training is designed in line with Yoga Alliance standards for RYT 500 certification. It combines the complete curriculum of both the 200-hour and 300-hour courses for a comprehensive study of yoga.
Students study common health conditions and how practices such as asana, pranayama, and diet may help manage them naturally. The training covers standing poses, forward bends, backbends, twists, and inversions, with attention to alignment, benefits, and purpose.
Three hours of daily practice help students build strength, flexibility, and balance while refining posture and alignment. The training also explores the therapeutic use of asanas and aims to develop precision and confidence in both practice and teaching.
This module examines how the body moves in different postures, the role of muscles, joints, and breath, and how to offer safe adjustments and corrections. It supports safe, effective teaching and a deeper understanding of yoga’s therapeutic value.
Students explore the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, key ideas such as dharma and karma, and the relevance of yogic wisdom in modern life. The module encourages a holistic approach that extends beyond the physical practice.
This section develops breathwork, mental clarity, and inner awareness through pranayama, meditation, yoga Nidra, and traditional chanting. From the second week onward, students begin hands-on practice to build a personal meditation routine, manage stress, and gain confidence in guiding others.
