Discover Morocco on a 4-day, 3-night journey from Tangier to Marrakesh, crossing the Sahara Desert and some of the country’s most iconic landscapes. This route combines mountain scenery, historic cities, and desert adventure, with highlights including the blue streets of Chefchaouen, a camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes, an overnight stay in a desert camp, the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, and the dramatic Todra and Dades gorges before ending in Marrakesh.
Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen – Fes
After meeting at the agreed location, the journey begins from Tangier through the Rif Mountains. On the way, you will pass Tetouan and enjoy views of the surrounding peaks before arriving in Chefchaouen, one of Morocco’s most enchanting villages. In the medina, you’ll find a Spanish-style square, artisan shops, rooftop cafes, and restaurants where lunch can be enjoyed. The day continues toward Fes, where you will spend the night in a traditional Moroccan riad.
Day 2: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga Camel trekking
Following breakfast, travel toward the Sahara Desert via Ifrane and the cedar forests, home to wild monkeys. This is a great chance to capture photos of Morocco’s natural scenery. Lunch will be served in a small Berber village. The route then continues through the Atlas Mountains, with beautiful views around Midelt and Erfoud, where the atmosphere of the Tafilalet oasis begins to appear. Later, arrive in Merzouga, take a short rest, and then ride camels into the desert for an overnight stay in a camp.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
In the morning, head to Rissani, known as the gateway to Erg Chebbi, with a lively souk that sees fewer tourists. You will also visit the donkey park near the market. Continue to Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the gorge, drive through the Dades Valley, where the rock formations called “monkey fingers” create a striking landscape. Overnight in Dades Valley.
Day 4: Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakesh
After breakfast, depart for Marrakesh via Ouarzazate. Stop for panoramic views of Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Film Studios. Then visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a kasbah that has been used as a filming location since the 1960s. Lunch will be taken at a local restaurant in the village. In the afternoon, continue across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka pass, at 2,260 meters above sea level, before arriving in Marrakesh, where the tour ends.
