Set in the peaceful surroundings of Rishikesh, India, Abhayaranya Yoga Ashram offers an intensive yoga program designed for both complete beginners and experienced practitioners who wish to deepen their practice and refine their skills. Each day is structured as part of an immersive journey, helping participants build a stronger experiential understanding of yoga’s core practices. With an emphasis on excellence, education, and community, the curriculum includes detailed asana technique, yoga philosophy, pranayama, and meditation for modern life.
While this retreat does not provide training in how to teach yoga, it serves as a comprehensive continuing education experience for those already practicing or teaching. It is also a meaningful starting point for aspiring teachers and an excellent option for students who want to go deeper without the time or financial commitment of a full teacher training. For those who have attended — or are planning to attend — a 7-day or 14-day yoga retreat at Abhayaranya Yoga Ashram, this program can be viewed as a natural extension.
Intensive courses also create space for ongoing connection with teachers, offering continued support and guidance throughout the journey. Guests are encouraged to stay in touch with like-minded participants through the community page, making it easier to carry the learning beyond the ashram and into everyday life. Expect morning and afternoon asana sessions, along with theory, contemplation, journaling, and meditation. It is a setting where genuine bonds are formed and lasting friendships often begin.
