Hatha yoga brings breath and movement together in a balanced, traditional approach. It includes many of the classic yoga styles practiced in Rishikesh, such as vinyasa, ashtanga, and power yoga. Rooted in practices that support both mental and physical well-being, hatha yoga dates back to the ninth century. Its core principle is the connection between holding postures and conscious breathing.

Ashtanga yoga, also known as ashtanga vinyasa yoga, follows a set sequence of poses and is closely associated with the teachings of K. Pattabhi Jois. The word “ashtanga” means “eight-limbed union” in Sanskrit, and the practice is built on eight guiding principles: posture, concentration, breath control, moral discipline, self-restraint, meditation, sensory inhibition, and ecstasy.

Our Yoga Alliance-certified residential teacher training courses in Rishikesh are available at 200, 300, and 500 hours, with a focus on Ashtanga Vinyasa and Hatha yoga.
