200HR Hatha Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training
This 15-day in-person training is supported by 5 days of online self-paced study and takes place with Tanya Savitri Popovich and Samanta Duggal. The program runs from November 10–24, 2026 at Banana House in Lamu, Kenya.
Designed around Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, this teacher training prepares participants to work with a wide range of students and adapt the practice to individual needs. It offers a profound journey of self-development and is positioned as a high standard in professional training. Led by Tanya Savitri Popovich, E-RYT500 and Yoga Acharya, who brings 20 years of international teaching experience, the course brings together thousands of hours of study and teaching across classical and modern yoga systems into a focused 200-hour foundational curriculum. The school is registered with Yoga Alliance at both 200-hour and 500-hour levels, and is also a YACEP provider.
Curriculum
The training is rooted in tradition and classical yoga, with study drawn from foundational texts including the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, Vedanta, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Tantric Yoga, and others. At the same time, the methodology integrates modern knowledge such as biomechanics, therapeutic alignment, and intelligent sequencing. This blend of ancient wisdom and contemporary science is explored through daily practice, both on and off the mat.
Location
Lamu is one of East Africa’s most captivating coastal destinations, offering a peaceful setting where history, culture, and natural beauty come together. Located on Lamu Island within the Lamu Archipelago, the town invites a slower pace of life, with narrow streets, traditional dhows, and turquoise waters shaping the atmosphere.
Framed by white beaches and palm trees, the island is ideal for those seeking calm and restoration. Its Swahili heritage is visible in the coral stone buildings, carved wooden doors, and architecture influenced by African, Arab, and Persian traditions. Days unfold gently here, from sunrise walks along Shela Beach to evenings illuminated by lantern light and the distant call to prayer. Local cuisine adds to the experience, with dishes featuring coconut, cardamom, and freshly caught seafood.

Each room includes an ensuite bathroom, a private seating area, and air fans.
Breakfast is included and served fresh each morning, with tropical fruit, eggs, local breads, and Swahili-inspired flavours. Guests arriving internationally are advised to fly into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi or Moi International Airport in Mombasa, then continue with a domestic flight to Manda Airport.
Arrival day is the first day of training and includes a welcome session in the evening. Departure day is the final day, and participants may leave in the morning after breakfast.
