A journey of self-discovery, joy, and yoga awaits in the heart of Bali. Over 15 immersive days, this soul-awakening training invites you to grow personally, deepen your practice, and learn how to guide others with authenticity and heart. Surrounded by tropical gardens, barefoot luxury, and the sounds of nature and music, you’ll step into an experience designed to support transformation from the inside out.
This Yoga Alliance-certified training with Kate Mak’s Mynah School of Yoga brings together ancient wisdom, modern embodiment, and a deeply human approach to learning. Each day balances focused study with joyful exploration, creating space for discipline, reflection, and connection. From sunrise movement to evening integration under the stars, the rhythm of the training is both grounding and expansive.
From the moment you arrive at Soulshine, you are immersed in the spirit of Bali. Tropical gardens, warm-hearted people, and a strong cultural reverence for spirit shape the atmosphere throughout the training. Together, you’ll explore yoga philosophy, asana, meditation, and reflective practices while developing the tools to share yoga in a way that feels true to your voice and style.
This experience is about more than teaching technique. Through community support and soulful connection, it is designed to empower you as both a teacher and a human being ready to shine your light in the world.
Kate W. Mak is a yoga teacher, mentor, and lifelong student who sees yoga as a way of living, not only a practice on the mat. Born and raised in Moh'kinstsis, also known as Calgary, her path has been shaped by curiosity, self-discovery, and a commitment to authenticity. With more than fifteen years of experience, she teaches from a place of community, reflection, mindful movement, and joy.
As the founder of Mynah Yoga, Kate is passionate about helping students find their unique voice as teachers and leaders. During the training at Soulshine Bali, she guides participants through the history, philosophy, and essence of yoga, while weaving in meditation, conscious living, and meaningful self-inquiry.
Soulshine began as a dream to create a soulful sanctuary where people could connect with themselves, with others, and with the spirit of Bali. What started in 2011 as a small five-room retreat with a yoga shala on the top floor has grown into a vibrant destination that has hosted more than 500 retreats, weddings, concerts, workshops, and transformational gatherings.
Today, Soulshine is a barefoot luxury resort, retreat center, organic farm, restaurant, and music venue. Rooted in the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana—harmony among people, nature, and spirit—the property honors the island’s traditions, with land farmed since the 9th century and daily offerings continuing as they have for generations.

For a deeper sense of ease, the Sanctuary Suite Room offers an infrared sauna and ice bath surrounded by lush tropical greenery. Wake up to jungle views, enjoy sunset from the rooftop, and unwind in a setting designed for true relaxation.
