Byron Yoga Centre is recognised as one of Australia’s most established yoga teacher training schools, with a history dating back to 1988. A Registered Training Organisation since 2009, the centre welcomes students from across the globe, including Asia, Africa, Europe, South America, North America, and Oceania.
This qualification is designed for people who want to deepen their understanding of yoga practice while building the skills needed to teach with confidence.
Throughout the course, students explore both theory and hands-on learning. The training covers foundational teaching skills, safe and effective class delivery, and supervised teaching practice to help develop real classroom confidence.
Learning takes place in a supportive environment, with practical sessions and guided teaching experience that allow students to apply what they study.
Regular yoga classes are also part of the training schedule, helping to support personal practice and strengthen connection with the course content.
Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency and hold an IELTS certificate with an overall band score of at least 6.0. Students must be able to read and understand written English and communicate effectively in English.
Recognition of Prior Learning may be available, although only Australian qualifications will be accepted by Byron Yoga Centre and this may affect the length of your visa. Direct Credit Transfer for selected units may also be possible depending on previous study.
Byron Yoga Centre offers four intakes each year: January, April, July, and October.
