
Zenju Earthlyn Manuel Osho, PhD, is the Dharma heir of Zenkei Blanche Hartman, with Dharma Transmission completed by Shosan Victoria Austin. In 2012, Zenju served as Shuso, or Head Student, at City Center during a practice period led by former abbess Kiku Christina Lehnherr.
Zenju is the author of The Deepest Peace: Contemplations from a Season of Stillness, The Way of Tenderness: Awakening Through Race, Sexuality, and Gender (with a foreword by Charles Johnson), Tell Me Something About Buddhism (foreword by Thich Nhat Hanh), featuring poetry and illustrations by Zenju, The Shamanic Bones of Zen: Revealing the Ancestral Spirit and Mystical Heart of a Sacred Tradition, and the most recent Opening to Darkness: Eight Gateways for Being with the Absence of Light in Unsettling Times. She has also contributed to numerous books, including Dharma, Color and Culture: Voices From Western Buddhist Teachers of Color and Hidden Lamp: Stories from Twenty-Five Centuries of Awakened Women, edited by Florence Caplow and Susan Moon. Zenju Earthlyn also compiled Seeds for a Boundless Life, a collection of teachings by Zenkei Blanche Hartman (1926–2016).
