My name is Véronique Verlomme-Fried. I was born on 05 July 1959 in Aix-Les-Bains, in the French region of Savoie. My yoga journey began 29 years ago in Düsseldorf, when I first explored the practice during pregnancy. Later, I chose to complete an in-depth yoga teacher training to deepen my personal experience from both a philosophical and teaching perspective.
At that time, training options were still relatively limited and far less varied than they are today. For that reason, I selected a BDY/EYU qualification, which took four years to complete and included a total of 800 teaching hours.
My approach is rooted in the classical teachings of Hatha yoga. The word Hatha comes from Sanskrit and means “powerful.” This is one of the best-known styles worldwide. In class, the asanas are usually practiced slowly to build strength and flexibility while also supporting balance. Pranayama, or breathing exercises, is an essential part of the practice as well. Prana refers to life energy. In this way, Hatha yoga creates a harmonious balance between physical effort and mental calm.
My introductions are clear, precise, and professional. I encourage participants to practice with joy and without unnecessary pressure to perform. Instead, I invite them to move with awareness. For me, teaching is not just a profession, but a way to support and inspire students. That is the essence of yoga for me.
