Hello and namaste! I’m Tatiana Caravaca, 30 years old, from Costa Rica. I come from a family of fishers, farmers, and artisans, and I am a native of Playa Blanca in the Gulf of Nicoya. I was born at sea, in a small boat on the way to the hospital in Puntarenas, and I grew up surrounded by the beauty, strength, and healing energy of the jungle.
From an early age, I felt deeply connected to animals and the study of medicinal plants, which were part of my upbringing through my mother and family as a form of alternative medicine. I later studied veterinary medicine, but life guided me toward yoga and meditation at exactly the right moment. These practices became a lifeline, helping me move through reconnection, acceptance, self-recognition, and inner healing. They supported me through intergenerational trauma, depression, and anxiety, and continue to accompany me on my journey. Becoming a mother also became a profound part of my spiritual growth, and I remain in a process of healing, learning, unlearning, and relearning.
Over time, I trained in different holistic therapies and yogic modalities with various teachers, each one enriching and supporting my path. In 2017, together with my life partner, who also shares a deep love for yoga and meditation, we founded our own holistic studio. There, we offered workshops, sacred ceremonies with medicinal plants, cacao, sound healing, and Yoga Nidra for mothers, women, children, and older adults, helping to build a beautiful community around us.
In 2022, I was called into a powerful encounter with Ayahuasca medicine on my own native land. That experience brought me back to my roots and the origin of my life, opening a deep journey of self-knowledge and acceptance that words can hardly describe. It awakened a fuller flowering of my being and deepened my appreciation for life, nature, the human experience, and the mystery of the energy that connects us all, within and around us, here and now.
Today, I continue walking this path with devotion, humility, love, and trust in the tools life has given me. I share them with the hope that they may support others as they have supported me.
At Soltara, I feel honored to welcome guests on their journey to Playa Blanca and cross the sea together into our beautiful jungle setting. I also serve as a yoga facilitator, holding space for yoga and holistic meditation before ceremonies in the retreats, as well as supporting integration through morning and afternoon yoga sessions. In addition, I assist with transportation coordination, health check-ins with the doctor on arrival and departure, and translation support for our teachers in the Shipibo market at the end of each retreat and whenever needed.
It is a blessing to be part of this loving container of healing for the world. I serve with devotion, gratitude, and faith in the healing, transformation, flowering, and expansion of every soul and heart that joins us week after week in community, connection with Mother Earth, and the sacred medicine of Ayahuasca.
