Taran Collis is a committed yoga therapist and wellness educator with a focus on healthy aging, stress management, and Ayurveda self-care across every stage of life. Her work encourages a deeper relationship with nature, offers a thoughtful alternative to the hurried pace of many modern programs, and helps students stay fully present. Through her guidance, people can work toward lowering biological age, supporting immune and respiratory health, improving posture and core strength, easing stress, reducing anxiety and depression, increasing vitality through functional breathing, restoring homeostasis, and improving sleep and digestion.
Taran creates space for nature to be part of the learning experience. In her view, many programs move too quickly and do not allow enough time for presence. She invites students to deepen their own connection and reclaim their health with practices that support lifting the arms overhead and moving with greater ease. Student feedback reflects this impact, including TR, who experienced remission from an autoimmune disease, and Kathy, who found peace and presence.
Taran offers a broad range of services, including private yoga therapy, group classes, Ayurveda wellness consultations, relaxation, meditation, Yoga Nidra, and nature-inspired retreats. She also serves as a trainer for Essential Yoga Therapy. Her educational programs, including the Ayurveda Self-care course, are structured like mini-retreats and introduce sacred treatments such as abhyanga self-massage, head, feet, and hand massage, marma point therapy, Karna Purana, Basti, Garshana, and Nasya. These courses are approved as 8 hours APD through IAYT.
Taran wrote Dinosaurs Do Yoga Too, a children’s book centered on self-esteem adventures. She has also appeared as a featured guest on The Last Word Podcast with KSFR, where she speaks about wellness topics. In addition, she takes part in book review panels and community events, including the Brave Conference and a variety of yoga and meditation practices.
Deeply engaged in community life, Taran leads yoga sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 AM PST. She also organizes spring community events, summer online retreats, and workshops designed to cultivate peace and seasonal wellness. Her work ranges from children’s yoga to advanced Ayurvedic treatments, helping make wellness education accessible to people of all ages.
