Swami Anand Arun is regarded as one of Nepal’s most influential spiritual figures. His path began in youth, when he was deeply drawn to meditation and the search for higher consciousness. During his engineering studies in 1969, he met his master, Osho, and that meeting became a turning point in his life. In 1974, he received formal initiation and became Swami Anand Arun.
Guided by Osho’s vision, he went on to establish Osho Tapoban International Commune in Nepal. Over time, it expanded into more than 100 Osho centers around the world. Despite the scale of his impact, Swami Arun remains known for his humility and often describes himself simply as “an ordinary man.” Yet his work has touched millions globally.
He is recognized as a meditation teacher, author, life coach, and visionary, and has been named among Nepal’s 100 most influential people. The President of Nepal honored him with the Prabal Janasewa Shree for his contributions to meditation, mental health awareness, youth transformation, and environmental protection, including his well-known “Plant a Tree on Your Birthday” movement.
Swami Arun has also written several bestselling books, including Lone Seeker Many Masters, In Wonder With Osho, and Satsang, along with multiple titles in Nepali and Hindi, many of which have been translated internationally. His teachings continue to support spiritual seekers and inspire people around the world toward meditation, clarity, and conscious living.
Swami Anand Arun had been visiting Dallas, Texas since 2007. In 2008, Swami Prem Maitreya met him there for the first time and received Sannyas. Afterward, Swami Prem Maitreya asked Swamiji who would give Sannyas in the future, as it had taken 14 years to find someone for Osho NEO Sannyas initiation.
Swami Anand Arun has always insisted on calling himself an ordinary man and humbly points to his master for everything that has manifested through him. And what has manifested is truly beyond extraordinary.
