From an early age, Sw. Shivam felt drawn to spirituality, art, and literature. He encountered Osho and meditation for the first time in 1998. After several years working as a television journalist, and later as a senior correspondent for a spiritual magazine, he chose to leave that path and devote himself fully to writing and painting.
A major turning point came when he arrived at Osho Nisarga and took sannyas in 2007. Since then, he has continued his journey of meditation and self-discovery, while also leading Osho meditation workshops since 2013.
Reflecting on his experience, he shares: “By exploring different methods and staying with what truly resonated, I discovered that meditation is my way to feel at ease, peaceful with myself, and joyful without reason. It is a gift from Osho. In everything I do or do not do, he remains part of my life. That presence allows my creative work to open into fresh perspectives, with the wisdom of the master flowing through each expression.”
Since 2014, Sw. Shivam has been practicing and teaching Zen meditations such as Zazen, Boketto, and Fura Fura. He believes in going directly to the heart of truth. In his view, our true nature has nothing to do with time or becoming, and is beyond pleasure or discomfort, thoughts or ideas, body or energy, and beyond anything we can do. It cannot be found as an object, because it simply is. Truth, he says, is a Lion’s Roar, and to know it, one must become a light unto oneself.
