Susan Raffo (she/her) is a writer, cultural worker, and bodyworker whose practice is rooted in care, solidarity, and community accountability. Much of her work has been shaped through the Healing Histories Project, a network of abolitionist healers, health practitioners, community organizers, researchers, historians, and cultural workers working together to challenge the medical industrial complex and harmful systems of care.
She has recently transitioned into HHP’s legacy counsel, continuing to support the project’s broader vision and values. Locally, Susan is also a core group member of REP, a Black-led network that responds to moments of crisis and urgency with compassion, respect, and a deep commitment to the dignity and autonomy of those in need.
Her work reflects an integrated approach to healing, one that honors lived experience, collective responsibility, and the power of community-based support.
