From an early age, I was drawn to the mysterious language of dreams and the deeper meanings they may hold. At 14, I discovered an old book on hypnosis, and that moment set me on the path toward altered states of consciousness.
By the age of 15, a clear vision had already begun to form: to create a sanctuary in nature, a retreat center where architecture, psychotherapy, spirituality, science, ecopsychology, meditation, and music could come together in harmony.
My therapeutic foundation is rooted in psychoanalysis and depth psychology, and today I am also training in systemic psychotherapy, which broadens my work with couples and families in their processes of healing and transformation.
I have always been committed to connecting theory with lived experience. This led me to begin research and writing in 2016 on the potential of psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy. Later, I worked in a psychiatric clinic, where I explored the therapeutic use of ketamine and transferred insights from the psilocybin field into this new setting.
In the clinic, I witnessed how powerful traditional ketamine infusions could be for people facing mental health challenges. It became clear that the presence of a compassionate guide can strongly influence the course of each session. Building on my experience in psilocybin therapy and hypnosis, I developed the Ketamine Hypnosis Package (KHP), which later evolved into Ketamine Assisted Hypnotherapy (KAH).
KAH has proven effective in many situations where conventional methods had not brought enough relief. My approach is centered on creating a space where surrender feels safe, supportive, and empowering. I also deeply value interdisciplinary cooperation, as I believe it can significantly enrich therapeutic outcomes.
In 2019, I contacted Prof. Dr. Dirk Revenstorf to develop a KAH training program for physicians, psychologists, and therapists, with the goal of strengthening the link between medicine, psychology, and hypnosis.
During the global pandemic in 2020, I established a private practice for Dr. Scheib in Berlin, offering ketamine therapy in Germany. The following year, I moved into independent practice and began collaborating with Inwardbound Retreats and Mindfulness Ltd. to facilitate psilocybin retreats in the Netherlands.
My interest in indigenous cultures and traditions has also shaped my path. Through extensive travel across Thailand, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, California, Peru, Bolivia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, and many parts of Europe, I have deepened my appreciation for ancient wisdom and the diversity of human experience.
Today, I work with KAH therapy in Germany, in Berlin and Pirmasens, and facilitate psilocybin retreats in the Netherlands together with colleagues from Ireland and England. This allows me to compare the practical use of both substances and emphasize the importance of an approach tailored to individual needs.
Alongside KAH and psilocybin retreats, I offer integration of psychedelic experiences, hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, advisory services for professionals, supervision, and KAH training.
My vision is a future in which psychedelic therapy is more accessible and affordable for those who need it. While ketamine and psilocybin treatments are still relatively expensive, I remain committed to supporting fairer access. I also continue to follow research on other mind-altering substances, as this field is only just beginning to reveal its full healing potential.
With hope, determination, and a vision of unity,
Sophie
