Simone MacKay’s path into psychedelic medicine emerged gradually, shaped by a lifelong devotion to healing and a wide range of lived experiences. Her early studies in aromatherapy offered the first glimpse of a future connection with the entheogenic plants of the Amazon.
From a young age, she felt a strong impulse to contribute meaningfully to the lives of others. Growing up in multicultural settings also fostered a deep curiosity about human experience, while a natural appreciation for both human and ecological diversity became part of who she is.
She first completed a Bachelor in Social Work and later worked as a crisis counselor for women affected by violence in the greater Toronto area in Canada. Over time, she expanded into holistic wellness practices and went on to lead yoga teacher trainings across continents, allowing her to engage with many cultures and communities. Her curiosity also drew her toward a deeper relationship with the Earth community.
That exploration led her into wilderness fasting, communion with Mother Nature, and work with entheogenic Amazonian and Andean plant medicines. Along the way, she was guided by both non-indigenous medicine keepers and indigenous elders, including teachings from the Sik/Sika Sauk (Blackfeet) Medicine Wheel. These experiences deepened her understanding of the cyclical nature of life, a thread found in many earth-honouring wisdom traditions.
Her work now brings together practical wisdom, trauma-informed care, and insight-rich experiences to create safe spaces for healing and self-inquiry. She has collaborated with different centers and respected medicine keepers, and has supported post-plant medicine ceremony integration, which became an important part of her path.
Rooted in the yogic tradition, Simone is also deeply devoted to yoga nidra, a guided somatic meditation practice that works with altered states of consciousness and their healing potential. For her, these states reveal our connection to all life and offer a path toward unity, healing, and relief from the separation that shapes so much of modern life.
In recent years, especially after the pandemic, she has spent extended periods in solitude working in ceremony with contemplative practices and master plant dietas. During this time, she also deepened her understanding of animal communication and cared lovingly for cats and beach dogs, while strengthening her connection to Spirit and nature.
Influenced by timeless wisdom traditions, including Ayurveda, Simone seeks to support personal evolution while honoring the planet’s intelligence and beauty. Her work with plant medicine and yogic practices reflects a belief that everything is alive, conscious, and interconnected. It is a form of soul work devoted to healing, guidance, and a more intimate relationship with the universe—something she feels is especially needed in these times.
