I live in Freiburg. As a pioneer, I organized the first mountain hiking and meditation groups in the Alps back in 1989, and they have continued to return ever since, with great success.
Since 1990, I have led trekking and meditation journeys through the Alps, to Corsica, Nepal, and Tibet. Many people know my tours from the well-known TV program “Bergauf, bergab” on Bavarian television.
As a passionate mountaineer, I bring many years of alpine experience across the Alps, Corsica, the South American Andes, New Zealand, and the Himalaya.
I spent more than six years of my life in Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan. After studying geology, I completed extensive training in breathwork, Gestalt therapy, and body therapy. In addition, I work as a freelance sculptor.
Ever since my youth, I have loved going into the mountains: I do something there that brings me joy, makes me feel free, and helps me repeatedly find clarity about what truly matters in my life. Although I enjoy climbing mountains, the “made” summit is not the most important part for me; it is all the experiences I can have along the way. Of course, overcoming physical effort and reaching a goal is fulfilling, but the spiritual and inner experience matters just as much. And that has less to do with reaching the summit than with awareness and being present. In the rhythm of walking and breathing, my mind becomes clear and my attention shifts into the present moment. When I pause here and now, not only at the next summit, my heart opens through the beauty and silence of the mountain world. I can feel one with nature and with myself. That is meditation.
