Rebecca Hanscombe serves as Director of the School of Ecstatic Movement.
The school was established in 2007 by Amoda Maa Jeevan, who now lives in the USA and is widely known as a bestselling author and teacher of embodied enlightenment. Rebecca received this lineage through a deeply transformative seven-year apprenticeship, an experience that opened the ego and planted the seeds of compassionate wisdom in both heart and mind.
In addition to this sacred body of work, Rebecca trained as a professional shamanic practitioner in her own right and through Sacred Trust, where she now also holds a faculty role.
Her close relationship with body-based energetic and shamanic practices inspired her to develop a new training called The Shaman’s Dance.
With more than twenty-five years of experience as a teacher and facilitator of group process, Rebecca has worked in a wide range of settings. Her background includes introducing dance and movement therapy to inmates at Holloway closed category prison, a pioneering role she held for over a decade.
She brings a deep understanding of how to enter, move through, and integrate transformational non-ordinary states of consciousness, including those powerful moments of insight and revelation.
“Our bodies are truly a gift and, when allowed to move, shake, and be stimulated into the complete surrender that these sacred ceremonies inspire, can lead to transformation. Through our bodies we connect to spirit, shedding emotional, mental, and physical dis-ease that may have been holding us back for years.”
Rebecca’s gift for creating sacred space is grounded, welcoming, and safe for all. She designs and facilitates transformational workshops, one-to-one programs, and events online and throughout Europe.
She also works as a Lead Trainer for clients including Success Resources and Real Life Property Group.
Outside her professional life, she is the mother of a strong and subversive 13-year-old and lives with her husband, dog, and feral cat in the lush, wild Wye Valley of South Wales.
