Losing both parents in childhood, and later his inheritance, set Pema on a lifelong search for meaning. These early experiences exposed, at a young age, how fragile worldly security can be. Music first became a refuge and eventually led to a successful international career, yet the unhealed pain of his youth later unfolded into a period of inner turmoil and addiction.
At his lowest point, a deep realization of the impermanent nature of thoughts, emotions, and even the mind itself transformed his path. Instead of turning away, he chose to meet experience directly. Pema left behind his career and possessions to dedicate himself fully to the Dharma. Over the next fifteen years, he committed himself to practice within the yogic and Tibetan Buddhist traditions, especially Dzogchen, studying with masters including the Dalai Lama, Dzongsar Khyentse, and his root teacher, Loppon Jigme Rinpoche.
After years of retreat, Pema founded Senda Loto as a sanctuary where people can restore balance and reconnect with themselves and others. His teachings are grounded, direct, and free of spiritual pretense, offering practical insight into meeting life exactly as it is, with clarity and an open heart.
