
Oriane Lavole is a translator and interpreter of Tibetan Buddhist texts and teachings, as well as a PhD candidate in Buddhist Studies in the Religious Studies department at Stanford University. Her work bridges scholarship and lived practice, with a focus on ecology in Tibetan Buddhism, land-based rituals, and the profound connection between spiritual practice and sacred places.
In addition to her academic research, Oriane is training as a Buddhist eco-chaplain, weaving together contemplative practice and ecological awareness in a thoughtful and meaningful way. She is also developing the contemplative ecology curriculum for Samye New York, contributing to learning experiences that bring Buddhist wisdom into conversation with the natural world.
