Michael Gale is a practicing painter, maker, and art teacher with a deep commitment to the creative process as a pathway for growth and healing. Trained in Fine Art in the 1970s, he went on to teach art in both mainstream and special schools, where he developed a lasting interest in the therapeutic possibilities of making art.
In 1996, Michael completed a three-year postgraduate training in Art Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths College, University of London. Since then, he has worked as a therapist in adult mental health services and in drug and alcohol dependency settings, and for the past 12 years he has also facilitated groups and offered one-to-one art therapy in schools and institutions for young adults.
Alongside his professional practice, Michael brings rich personal experience as both a group facilitator and a participant in a variety of self-development, dance, and movement processes. His work is grounded in creativity, presence, and the belief that art can support meaningful inner exploration.
