Marco’s relationship with Ayahuasca began 19 years ago. He was first initiated by a Huichol medicine man during a pilgrimage to Wirikuta, and then spent four years on vision quests under the guidance of Lakota people from the North. He also studied Yopo and Mamawilka with the Piaroa tribe, learning from elder Bolivar.
His Ayahuasca path deepened 10 years ago through an apprenticeship in the Amazon with the Shipibo tribe and shamans Fidel Mozombite, Mateo Arevalo, Daniel Arevalo, Takiwasi, and Atahualpa. He later continued in Mexico with Mayan shaman Don Lauro de la Cruz, focusing on energy healing work.
Today, he continues to study and practice these traditions through sacred work in Peru, Venezuela, Brazil, Mexico, and the United States. He has been leading Ayahuasca ceremonies for the past 7 years and believes the most important truth to remember is that the sacrament herself is the shaman.
