Nelson travels with great enthusiasm to Sacred Valley to share his gifts of curanderismo and work alongside us. He lives in a region of the Amazon rainforest, two hours south of Pucallpa. He began his Shipibo shamanic training at just 14 years old, learning from his grandfather and older brother, both respected and well-known Shipibo Onayas (healers).
He cares for his patients as if they were members of his own family, offering his knowledge of Amazonian plant medicine with genuine love and care. Over many years, he has supported Westerners and international guests through established centers in Peru and Costa Rica, and he remains devoted to the vast world of plant dietas as a way to continue his education as a doctor.
His favorite plants are piñon colorado, ajo sacha, and shihuahuaco, which are often invoked in his icaros, or healing songs. Nelson guides each ceremony with integrity, strength, sincerity, and deep respect for everyone in our maloka. His Shipibo name, Isa Sina, means “protector” or “one who takes care of others,” reflecting the powerful path he was given at birth.
