Maestra Silvia Marin Garcia has been devoted to plant medicine since the age of 12. Born in Nueva Avaipa, eight hours from Pucallpa along the Ucayali River, she was raised with the guidance of her mother and grandparents, who taught her how to understand the plants from an early age. As her knowledge of their healing properties deepened, along with the Shipibo artistic traditions, Silvia came to recognize the importance of protecting the wisdom of her ancestors so it could continue to support the healing of others.
At 12, Silvia moved to Pucallpa, where she began dieting the plants to cleanse her mind, body, and spirit in preparation for her shamanic healing path. She first trained with her uncle in the community of Dos Unidos, and later continued with her aunt, Eliza Vargas, in San Francisco. There, her dedication to the plants became even stronger, and she soon began apprenticing closely with her aunt, learning everything she could from her.
Maestra Silvia sees Ayahuasca and the plants as sacred spirits that connect us to the wisdom of nature. In her view, they help clear blockages and cleanse and heal the spirit, heart, and mind, guiding us toward inner harmony. Through her work with the medicine, she has seen its deeply positive and lasting effect on people’s lives, inspiring her to continue sharing this path beyond Peru.
Grateful for the opportunity to share the medicine internationally, Maestra Silvia is committed to offering her very best with integrity and love. She dedicates her life to preserving and passing on the ancestral Shipibo tradition so it may continue to heal the world. Her intention is to offer an authentic experience that opens the door to new possibilities for a better future.
