Leonidas has devoted his life to ancestral wisdom, learning from Elders across several Amazonian communities from the age of six.
Born in a small town rooted in the Pijao community, he took his first Ayahuasca, or Yagé, ceremony at six years old, guided by his parents. A year later, he began his path as a healer under the care of Siona and Cofán elders.
The ceremonial hut, known as the Maloca, became a sacred place for deepening his learning and strengthening his spiritual connection. Located in the Colombian Amazon, on the outskirts of Curillo, Caquetá, it has supported his training for many years. Over the past 26 years, he has studied with teachers from the Coreguaje, Inga, Siona, Secoya, and Cofán communities. Since the age of 15, he has been finding, harvesting, praying with, preparing, and healing through Yagé medicine.
Today, Leonidas continues to honor the plant and its masters by preserving the ancient form of the ceremony and offering only the purest medicine, without any other plants or additives. He has shared these ceremonies for more than 26 years and remains a guardian of the jungle and the culture of this sacred plant.
