
Hawah Kasat (he/him) is an internationally recognized author, educator, nonprofit leader, podcast host, TEDx speaker, and yogi. He has studied movement, meditation, and philosophy since childhood. With roots tracing back to India, his life has been shaped by schooling in New Jersey and Washington, D.C., alongside long summer stays in Mumbai. From birth, he has been immersed in the living traditions, culture, philosophy, and practices of his ancestral homeland.
For more than 20 years, Hawah has taught yoga, mindfulness, social-emotional literacy, conflict transformation, the healing arts, and trauma-informed care to students from many different backgrounds around the world. His experience includes work as a featured speaker, performer, and workshop presenter for People to People International, the Congressional Youth Leadership Council, and the Children’s Defense Fund’s Freedom Schools. He has also appeared on XM National Satellite Radio, BBC, Fox News, NBC, ABC, CNN, The Washington Post, NPR, and Al Jazeera.
As a community organizer, Hawah co-founded and formerly served as executive director of One Common Unity, an award-winning nonprofit that has touched the lives of more than 40,000 youth and families. More recently, he helped launch Roots to Sky Sanctuary, a 125-acre regenerative farm and healing arts center in northern Appalachia, where he serves as managing partner. He has written four books and produced three documentary films. In 2024, he launched Evolutionary, a biweekly podcast.
