I have been immersed in music since an early age, exploring several instruments and a range of repertoires. About 20 years ago, I discovered the Japanese shakuhachi flute. Its sound captivated me immediately, and when I learned about the traditional solo repertoire once used exclusively by Rinzai Zen monks for meditation, I felt an instant connection.
Since then, I have continued to study this repertoire, traveling extensively and advancing as a member of Chikumeisha at Shihan level. Along the way, I had the good fortune to meet and collaborate with Demetrios Psychas, a remarkable soul and my teacher in music therapy. He opened many doors for me, revealing how sound and music can heal, restore balance, and bring clarity. It is a broad field that I continue to explore, study, and practice.
I work with a number of instruments whose qualities support this process, including singing bowls and gongs, as well as instruments I already knew, now approached in new ways, such as the Celtic harp. On this journey of sound, which leads us closer to who we truly are, I also teach Tai Chi, work part-time as a civil engineer, and perform with music groups.
