Gemma was born in the United States and spent her childhood in the south of Germany. After high school, she relocated to Denmark to study Design, later completing a Master of Arts degree. Her professional background includes work as a designer and design consultant in design research, strategic design, and business design, with a special focus on human-centered design. This approach keeps people’s needs at the center of the process in order to support behavioral change and generate meaningful value for both individuals and organizations.
In 2011, a series of synchronicities brought her to a volunteer project in Rwanda, Africa. That journey awakened something profound within her and marked the beginning of a deep inner transformation. From there, Gemma was guided toward a search for meaning, plant medicine, and healing modalities that could help her recover from work addiction and severe anxiety.
Her path with plant medicine began in 2014, when she attended her first Ayahuasca retreat in the Peruvian rainforest. Since then, she has continued to work with Ayahuasca, master plants, and other medicines as part of her personal process of healing, learning, and growth. Gemma has participated in numerous plant dietas, some within the Mestizo lineage and others within the Shipibo lineage. Her Shipibo dietas have deeply transformed her relationship with the plants and opened the path to her own medicine, allowing her to support others in their healing journey.
Gemma now lives in the mountains of Peru, where she devotes her life to service as a facilitator for Ayahuasca, San Pedro, and Kambo ceremonies and retreats. She remains an apprentice, continually immersing herself in different medicines and healing modalities. She is also a yoga teacher and works with herbalism, food therapy, and sound healing. In addition, she practices Ayurvedic Marma Therapy, Pranic Healing, and Theta Healing to support and empower people on their journey.
Gemma believes in the power of nature, prayer, and a life rooted in gratitude, connection, and community — a way of living that nurtures mutual support and encourages greater healing, growth, and expansion.
