Edomyas Solomon is a co-founder and member of the Enlivened Cooperative, an eco-social, for-impact organization creating meaningful and innovative learning experiences. For the past five years, he has also been an active contributor to the Ecoversities Alliance, a network of learners and communities reclaiming diverse knowledge systems, relationships, and imaginations to shape new approaches to higher education.
His background spans both the non-profit and private sectors, with extensive work over the last five years alongside youth of all ages. In that time, he has directed and managed recreational and academic summer programs, facilitated food justice courses and workshops, and developed curriculum centered on wellness and experiential learning.
Edomyas holds master’s degrees in Business Administration and in Transpersonal Psychology, with a specialization in Creativity and Innovation. His lifelong path of spiritual reflection, awakening, and transformation began in a deeply devotional Christian tradition, later deepened through the Gelugpa lineage of Mahayana Tibetan Buddhism in his 20s, and over the past decade has been further shaped by secular non-dual philosophies and practices inspired by Indian Advaita Vedanta traditions.
Touched by love, freedom, and beauty, he continues to offer himself as a joyful instrument for the playful expression of the ineffable through presence, friendship, and the art of weaving stories through words, sounds, and images. His interests include Capoeira, music, occasionally playing the trumpet, nature hikes, and drawing and painting. He is currently working on an illustrated children’s book focused on ecological regeneration and the power of community in creating sanctuary.
Originally from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and having lived in several places across the U.S., Edomyas is now based in Berkeley, California.
