As Executive Director, Doug brings a deep sense of purpose, leadership, and hospitality to the Center for Faith, Calling, and Community. Raised in Richland, Washington, he earned his BA in Philosophy from Wheaton College in Illinois and his Master of Divinity from Regent College in Vancouver, B.C. Before arriving at Ingalls Creek, Doug spent 22 years serving as a Presbyterian pastor in Alaska and Idaho, shaping a life rooted in service, reflection, and community care.
As the son of founders Alan and Anna, Doug followed a long-held dream to join Ingalls Creek, where he now serves alongside his wife Susan, a speech therapist. Together, they offer thoughtful vision for the center and help create a welcoming environment for guests and retreat participants. Outside of work, Doug enjoys Creekside walks with their black lab Ellie, hiking, fly fishing, playing music, and hosting friends. He and Susan also love spending time with their three grown daughters, Katie, Anna, and Laura, making Ingalls Creek a meaningful and treasured place for others to experience.
