
B.K.S. Iyengar, born Bellur Krishnamachar Sundararaja Iyengar, was a highly respected yoga teacher and a defining voice in modern yoga. Born on December 14, 1918, in Bellur, Karnataka, India, he devoted his life to refining and sharing a method that would become known worldwide as Iyengar Yoga. He passed away on August 20, 2014.
