
Anona Kampe comes from the Penticton Indian Band in the Okanagan Nation, where she carries forward a deep connection to culture, land, and community. Her traditional name, sknir_mn, means Buttercup, reflecting the spirit and rootedness that shape her work and presence.
She is a singer, drum carrier, beadworker, storyteller, dancer, teacher, harvester, disciplinarian, knowledge keeper, and nsyilxcn language speaker. Anona is also a dedicated protector of land and water, and she lives in alignment with Okanagan protocols in all that she does. Through her many roles, she shares knowledge with care, strength, and intention, offering a meaningful connection to Indigenous teachings and traditions.
