
Andrea Sherman, Ph.D., is a gerontologist, educator, trainer, and end-of-life doula whose work is deeply rooted in palliative care and end-of-life support. As co-author of Transitional Keys: Rituals to Improve Quality of Life for Older Adults, she brings a thoughtful perspective on dignity, compassion, and the value of meaningful aging.
Her professional achievements have earned her recognition as a Fellow of both the Gerontological Society of America and the New York Academy of Medicine. She has also contributed her expertise as a former Curriculum Consultant to the Bronx VA and the National Center for Creative Aging, helping shape educational approaches to aging, care, and support.
At Westchester Meditation Center, Andrea leads Aging for Beginners, a class designed to offer clear, accessible guidance for anyone seeking a more mindful understanding of aging. Through her teaching, participants are invited to meet later life with greater awareness, presence, and care.
