Hello, I’m Alex, and I’m glad you’re considering beginning therapy with me. My work is person-centered and grounded in evidence-based care, using research-backed tools and strategies to help address unhelpful thoughts and patterns that can leave people feeling stuck, anxious, or unhappy. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
I also have a strong interest in philosophy, especially the teachings of Buddhism and Taoism. These traditions have long explored suffering and the human experience, and I believe Western psychology can be enriched by their wisdom. Mindfulness is often a valuable part of that process, and when it feels appropriate and my clients are interested, I may include mindfulness practices in our sessions.
In addition, I’m deeply curious about plant medicine and the ancient traditions connected to it. I’m fascinated by the relationship between people, plants, and fungi, and by the powerful healing and consciousness-expanding qualities many of these organisms hold. As science continues to learn more about these compounds, I’m excited to be part of that evolving conversation.
I see the people I work with as the experts in their own lives. Often, the strength and insight needed to move through challenges are already there and simply need time, care, and space to emerge. I strive to offer a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their inner world openly. Looking at the past, especially childhood experiences, can be an important part of understanding who we are and why we respond as we do. Alongside that exploration, I also provide practical coping skills and techniques to support clients in the present, especially during difficult or uncomfortable moments.
I would be honored to join you on a healing journey and look forward to welcoming you to my office when you’re ready.
