I’m delighted to be back at the beautiful Braziers Park for a Spring retreat. Join me for a nourishing and rejuvenating 4-day weekend of hatha yoga, movement relaxation, gong bath/sound healing, yoga nidra (guided relaxation) delicious, homemade vegetarian food, walks, campfires and good company.

Pick and choose which activities you do. There will be plenty of opportunities for deep rest, massage and fresh air in the stunning grounds.

This is open to all levels and suitable for beginners. My retreats attract all levels and I encourage you to go at your own pace.

About Braziers Park:
Braziers Park is a warm country manor house (formally home to 007!), set deep in beautiful countryside and the rolling Chiltern Hills of South Oxfordshire, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The old manor is Grade II listed in the strawberry gothic style, it has so much character and beauty. There are real log fires, plentiful sofas and a grand piano amongst its charms. All set in 57 acres of land with beautiful gardens. Braziers is a working eco community with a walled vegetable garden and an ancient orchard. The location is perfect for a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating retreat.

All rooms are comfortable and charming. All bathrooms are shared. A limited number of single rooms are available.

Things to do:
Braziers Park is a really interesting place to explore. There are plenty of quiet places to read and lovely grounds to explore, including a woodland walk. There’s a library, the study, dining room and a space to relax by the log fire and grand piano. There will be plenty of time to just be, or hang out and chat with others and enjoy being part of the community. Massage will also be on offer for an extra cost.

Louise Hurford
Louise comes from a contemporary dance background. She completed her yoga teaching certificate in India in 2007 and since then has been teaching and training with a variety of teachers, including the inspiring Uma Dinsmore Tuli and Sarah Powers. Louise will be leading most of the sessions throughout the retreat. Her style of teaching is hatha flow suitable for all levels, including beginners- it combines fluid asana (postures), movement, stillness and breathwork to bring balance and nourishment to both body and mind.

Louise is also a Shiatsu massage practitioner and incorporates her knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine, working with the seasons and how they relate to the energy channels of the body. Louise’s yoga sessions will be more dynamic in the morning and restful and restorative in the evening with some yoga nidra (guided relaxation).

Alice Mc Cuigan
Alice was first introduced to Yoga as a way to unwind and de-stress from the fast-paced nature of studying in London. She soon discovered that Yoga was an opportunity to re-connect entirely, counter daily habit patterns and open up to new perspectives. Fascinated by this process, she has practised many forms of Yoga, starting with Hatha, then exploring Vinyasa, Ashtanga Yoga and Restorative Yoga.

Alice has been teaching Yoga since 2015 and is a 500hr qualified teacher, committed to developing her training with multiple CPDs every year. She is currently training in Primal Vinyasa and enjoys weaving these layers of evolutionary & functional movement development into her classes. She loves the self-inquiry that Yoga can teach us and shares the practice as a foundation for life, having experienced first-hand how it can help us to reconnect, find steadiness and thrive.

Catherine Holt
Catherine is bringing a gentle, healing sound bath to Louise’s wonderful retreat. Since retreats can be the jumping-off point for deep work and introspection, Catherine plans to
facilitate a nurturing and loving bath in sacred sounds, including crystal bowls, Himalayan singing bowls, voice and ultimately, gongs.

Catherine will guide you through a nurturing cleanse of the chakras as we go, and allow you to sink beautifully, into space which is all your own and deeply restful to support your retreat experience. Visiting the chakras allows an opportunity to scan each area of the energetic body and bring intention and healing to areas that you can feel imbalance within. The gongs wash over you, causing the mind to ‘stop’ in its relentless overdrive as it can no longer rationally decipher each sound. This causes the all-important to Surrender. Where true peace and healing can begin.
