Summary

*Location*

Located in the Southern region of Italy, you will stay in traditional Trullis nestled amongst olive groves in the rural countryside. Our space is a 15-minute drive from Alberobello, a UNESCO heritage site renowned for its charm and beauty.

*Yoga Programme*

The Yoga Programme will run for 5 days consecutively and aims to support overall growth and well-being through classes and workshops that are designed to restore balance in the body, and in turn, provide rest and clarity for the mind.

Our teachers have experience working with a wide range of abilities and come from varying traditions of yoga, providing breadth within our schedule and the chance to try something new.

Taking the time to establish a sound mind-body connection through yoga can have profound therapeutic benefits - a central goal of our program. In joining us, you will also be supporting the valuable work of Ourmala, a charity that provides free and accessible yoga classes to refugees and those seeking asylum in the UK for whom access to yoga is limited.

*Our Kitchen*

Using seasonal, local and organic produce, we aim to provide balanced dishes that are naturally nourishing and full of flavor. We see food as an integral part of the retreat program - eating seasonally in Italy means you’re eating fresh ingredients at the height of their nutritional value and flavor. There will be several options for food and drink, with no restrictions - you choose what suits you best.

What's included in the package

  • 1:1 yoga session
  • Food (during yoga programme)
  • Accommodation
  • Local lifts to town
  • Yoga (5 days intensive/ 2 free)

Teachers

Naomi Newall-Watson
Yoga has been a part of my life for many years, and I have taught and practiced in varied environments engaging with a range of disciplines along the way. My initial teacher training followed the Ashtanga system, one which has provided me with a solid foundation from which I have engaged with Yin Yoga, Bikram, Iyengar, and various Vinyasa flow styles. Currently, I use my experiences to offer a type of yoga that makes sense to me - one which is fundamentally a therapeutic practice, whilst also providing space for challenge and play.

Education and Qualifications (2012 - current)

200 Hours training through the Yoga Institute, Mumbai, India.
200 hours (over 12 months) further training through the Classical Yoga School (certified with Yoga Alliance)
50+ Continuing Professional Development
8 years teaching experience in commercial, public, private and outreach settings.

Yoga Prison Matters (2017-2018)

This project ran for 1 year, funded by the University Scholarship for Research and Leadership through St Andrews University. I worked with ex-prisoners in a therapeutic capacity delivering trauma-informed yoga sessions.
