Teachers

Marianne Wiid
Marianne is a qualified Iyengar yoga teacher with an Intermediate Junior Level 2 certification from the institute in Pune, India and 20 years of practice on the mat. For her, Yoga is a continuous journey of humble learning and delightful surprises. This steeps her approach to teaching with compassion as she guides her students towards fulfilling a vision of a joyous and peaceful life.

Marianne is also a passionate traveler. She quenches her curious spirit by doing yoga all over the world and fully immersing herself in local cultures and cuisines, be it the delicious dhals of India or a cheese-fest on a walking circumnavigation of Mont Blanc.

When not standing on her head, you’ll find her in a sprawling garden surrounded by the animals and plants she nurtures. You might alternatively find her in the kitchen sharing a lifelong passion for food made with love; a skill honed through working in the food industry. Before becoming a full-time yoga teacher Marianne and her daughter Anya, shared their love of food with others in a welcoming restaurant in Hermanus appropriately called Anya’s Mum. Here they offered food as nourishment for mind, body, and soul.
