Spend a restorative weekend immersed in yoga and writing, with space to slow down, turn inward, and reconnect with your inner wisdom. This retreat is designed to help you access the wellspring of creative energy already flowing within you. Through yoga, you can settle the body and quiet the mind, creating the clarity needed to listen deeply, capture inspiration, and bring it to the page.
Each day will start with a yoga practice to gently awaken and energize both body and mind, helping to open the pathways of creative expression. Meditation will also be part of the experience, supporting a more intuitive and receptive state of mind. From there, you will move into writing exercises and prompts, along with listening to selected writing excerpts, including passages from Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Down the Bones.
Yoga Nidra, also known as sleep yoga, will be practiced as a way to soften brainwave activity, calm the mind, and invite reflection within your inner landscape. When the mind feels relaxed, unhurried, and free, writing can unfold more naturally. In that spacious state, we are better able to listen, receive, and express what comes from our most authentic self.
This retreat is ideal for beginners, experienced writers, published authors, or anyone simply seeking a creative weekend away. Bring a beautiful journal or a simple notebook—your style is entirely your own. Most of all, bring your favorite writing tools. The experience should feel easy and comfortable, like golden ribbons moving across wheat fields.
Writing is a sacred practice of honoring ourselves, our loved ones, our ancestors, and the natural world. We write to heal, to recognize images, memories, and feelings, and to discover our smallest, deepest voice. That inner voice can leave a lasting imprint on the psyche, opening the door to greater freedom, expression, and discovery.
