An interactive 2-hour evening lecture with Ty Landrum on 2 October 2026.
This lecture offers an evening of study, reflection, and lived yoga philosophy. Ty shares the teachings in a grounded and accessible way, showing how ancient wisdom can still serve as a meaningful framework for modern life. Rather than staying in the realm of theory, the talk invites curiosity about how yoga can bring clarity, orientation, and steadiness when life feels uncertain.
It is both a hopeful tribute to modern yoga and a playful celebration of somatic exploration. At its heart is the belief that, beneath the noise, glamour, and confusion, the modern yoga movement carries genuine spiritual depth. Through asana, pranayama, and meditation, we reconnect with the soul, rediscover a sense of wonder, and meet the disconnection of our time with something more nourishing and true.
Together, we will reflect on the nature of our spiritual needs and imagine fresh possibilities for what yoga can become.
The lecture can be attended on its own, and it also forms part of the Black Lotus Yoga weekend intensive. Everyone with an interest is welcome.
This is an intimate gathering at De Roos, designed to create space for listening, reflection, and questions throughout the evening. Ty presents yoga philosophy with passion and clarity, while encouraging interaction and dialogue. You can expect to leave feeling inspired, with a renewed sense of connection and direction.
3-4 October 2026
This weekend immersion offers an embodied introduction to Black Lotus Yoga, exploring philosophy through movement rather than theory. Through attentive physical practice, you will be guided into an experience of how breath, structure, and subtle techniques can support a deeper sense of embodiment.
The intensive can be booked separately, or combined with the philosophy lecture if you would like to engage with the teachings of Black Lotus Yoga through both practice and shared reflection.
Ty Landrum
Ty Landrum is a poet, philosopher, somatic explorer, and apprentice to the body. His path in yoga was shaped by pain and heartache, loss and confusion, old books and lost tapes, full moons, long periods of silence, cold winds, simplicity, forgiveness, surrender, and the caring words of a few good friends.
Known for his deep engagement with traditional yogic ideas, Ty has a rare gift for bringing yoga philosophy to life not only through words, but through the breathing body itself. His wish as a teacher is to share the brilliance of yoga with anyone who wants to learn.
Ty Landrum is returning to Amsterdam, and he is warmly welcomed back at Global Flow. He was first met during a free online yoga event in the Covid period, and his depth of knowledge, together with the way he truly embodies his practice, left a lasting impression.
Ty brings dedication, lived understanding, and humility to his teaching. Through Black Lotus Yoga, his own method rooted in Ashtanga yoga, he weaves years of study and personal practice into an approach that feels both grounded and accessible. We are delighted to host him again and to offer you the chance to broaden and deepen your practice through his teachings.

This lecture is open to anyone interested in yoga philosophy and its relevance in everyday life. It is especially suitable for practitioners who enjoy reflection, inquiry, and exploring the broader context of yoga beyond physical practice. No previous study of philosophy is required.
The lecture takes place at De Roos in Amsterdam. Doors open shortly before the start time, and arriving a little early is recommended so you can settle in comfortably.
De Roos is a unique historic venue in the heart of Amsterdam, at the entrance to Vondelpark. Originally opened in 1900 as the headquarters of the Theosophical Society, it has a long connection to personal development and wisdom traditions.
Today, De Roos is a contemporary yoga and event space with a calm, grounded atmosphere.
During the lunch break, you are welcome to stay at De Roos and visit the café, which offers organic salad bowls, sandwiches, juices, ceremonial cacao, and other nourishing options. The long lunch break also gives you time to enjoy the park on a beautiful day.
Yoga mats are available at the venue, though you are welcome to bring your own. A reusable water bottle is recommended, as Amsterdam tap water is safe to drink. If you rely on specific props, please bring your essential items. While every effort is made to provide what is needed, individual requirements cannot be guaranteed.
These intensives and masterclasses are intended for practitioners with some prior yoga experience who want to deepen their practice. Participants of different levels are welcome, and if you are working with an injury, the teacher can offer suitable adjustments and options. If you are unsure whether this immersion is right for you, please get in touch for advice.
If you are dealing with an injury or physical limitation, please let the teacher know at the start of the immersion. Adjustments and variations will be offered where possible, but participants are asked to take responsibility for their own practice and stay within their personal boundaries.
All events are taught in English.
De Roos is centrally located in Amsterdam and easy to reach by public transport, with several tram stops within walking distance. Paid parking is available nearby, though it may be limited and relatively expensive.
The venue is accessible on foot and by bike, and public transport is recommended where possible.
Accommodation is not included in the immersion. Amsterdam offers many options close to the venue, and the best choice depends on your preferences and budget.
Many participants choose Airbnb, which is widely available in Amsterdam. Staying near Vondelpark is a convenient option, with areas such as the Vondelkwartier, Oud-Zuid, and Oud-West all within walking distance or a short bike or tram ride.
There are also several nearby hotels. For those who prefer a hostel, Stayokay Vondelpark is just a two-minute walk from De Roos.
All bookings and cancellations are subject to the booking and cancellation policy. We recommend reviewing these carefully before booking.
If you have any questions about the immersion, please feel free to reach out through the contact form. We are happy to help.
