This retreat is designed for artists, activists, community organizers, scholars, educators, students, practitioners, and nonprofit leaders working in restorative or transformative justice, criminal legal defense, justice studies, or social justice advocacy who have a writing project they want to advance. Whether you are developing a book, thesis, dissertation, article, grant proposal, newsletter, or exhibit copy, you will find focused time and space to make progress.
Independent writing blocks will be interwoven with facilitated gatherings that offer space to connect, reflect, and encourage one another. During the unscheduled writing time, participants may also receive writing coaching from the retreat facilitator. To support the creative process, guests are invited to spend time in the art garage, relax in the pool, reflect in the labyrinth, walk the grounds, or simply take in the beauty of the site.
The retreat’s purpose is to help participants find writing nourishment and motivation in the company of fellow writers, while also deepening connection with others committed to creating right relationship in our shared world.
The retreat begins on Monday, June 15, at 4:00pm and ends on Thursday, June 18, at 1:30pm. Participants may stay any 2 nights during the retreat or all 3 nights. Registration is open until June 8.
