Full Day Tour: Pallay Puncho Rainbow Mountain
Your day begins early with hotel pick-up in Cusco at around 4:00 am. From there, your private guide and transportation will take you on a 3.25-hour drive to Sicuani, where a hearty breakfast will be served. The journey then continues for about one hour to the Layo district, followed by a 20-minute transfer to the trailhead.
The hike to Pallay Punchu of Apu Tacllo covers approximately 3 kilometers and takes around one hour. At an altitude of 4790 m / 15715 ft, the summit reveals spectacular views of the mountain’s dramatic, multicolored ridges.
Once at the top, you will take part in a special Andean ritual offering to Mother Earth, led by an Andean Shaman. This meaningful ceremony, which lasts about 45 minutes, invites you to connect more deeply with nature and the spirit of the Andes.
After the ceremony, you will return to your vehicle and stop in Sicuani for lunch before heading back to Cusco. By evening, you’ll return with unforgettable memories of a truly unique experience in Peru.
