This 8-day meditation retreat includes 6 full days of silence, offering a rare opportunity to slow down, turn inward, and reconnect with yourself in the company of horses and nature. Throughout the retreat, you will be gently supported through structured meditation and silent practice, with time to rest, reflect, and absorb the experience.
Leave feeling light, peaceful, clear, and renewed. The benefits will stay with you long after the retreat ends.
You will stay in a spacious Victorian house near the sea in Arnside. Arnside and Silverdale are officially designated as areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, set on the edge of the Lake District National Park. The house is within a very short walk of a bay with views across the Lake District mountains, as well as nearby forests and hills.
The house sleeps 16 in total, but for this silent retreat, bookings are limited to 7 guests. This creates more peace and space, eases pressure on the kitchen and bathrooms, and also allows 4 guests the option of a private room.
Beautifully decorated in a quirky bohemian style, the house offers many places to sit and rest, including a completely private walled garden. There are plenty of books to enjoy, and guests are warmly encouraged to walk and journal during free time.
Experience the magic:
This transformative retreat invites you into deep silence, embodiment, and healing while surrounded by mountains, the sea, and the calm presence of nature. Guided by the intuitive wisdom of horses, you will take part in meditations and practices designed to reconnect you with inner peace and balance.
In everyday life, we often understand ourselves through the reactions and responses of others. Over time, this constant feedback can shape beliefs and perceptions that may not reflect our true purpose.
Silence allows the labels we carry to fall away, leaving the mind like still water, where reality can be seen more clearly. In this quiet, you may begin to notice where growth is needed and what has been holding you back.
On a conscious level, we often blame others for what we cannot control. Yet our reactions usually arise from unprocessed wounds in the unconscious mind. In silence, those projections soften, creating space to feel and heal what lies beneath. As this process unfolds, the mind becomes still, clear, and aligned with peace, joy, love, compassion, and creativity.
Horses are prey animals that live in herds, which makes them deeply sensitive and highly attuned. They are always present, listening, watching, and responding to subtle changes in their environment. Their hearts have an electromagnetic field five times larger than a human heart, and they detect your heart rate and synchronise with it. They also sense hormonal changes and mirror your emotional circuitry. When invited into connection, they help calm the central nervous system and show us how we are moving through the world, as well as what may be holding us back.
During spring and summer, sessions take place outdoors with two rescue horses, Yogi and Ellie, in the paddock. They have been meditating with people for a combined total of 16 years. They connect very deeply and often lie down on the grass so guests can lie with them and cuddle. The effect is like a powerful natural sedative, bringing the heart and central nervous system into coherence and deep peace. These horses are based at Amber's Field, a 5-minute drive from the retreat house, and guests will be driven there each day.
During the winter months, sessions take place indoors at Old Hall Farm in Bouth with the gentle giants Stan and Archie, the peaceful Shires, plus the donkey Ernie and Shetland pony Ted. This provides a comfortable indoor space away from the Lake District weather.
We keep the number of horses worked with at one time to two, with a maximum of 8 people. This helps ensure safety and supports the logistics of teaching and guiding the energy work with the horses. Before and after the teachings, guests are invited to meet the other animals and connect.
There is a train station within walking distance of the house, with a short train journey from Lancaster. Arnside is also close to the M6; leave the motorway at Carnforth and continue for around 15 minutes along country lanes.
The nearest airport is Manchester, and there are regular trains from Manchester to Lancaster, where you can change for Arnside.
You must arrive at 4pm on Day 1. You will have one hour to check in, and dinner is served at 5pm. At 6pm, the welcome circle begins and finishes around 9pm.
