This 5-day meditation retreat includes 3 full days of silence, offering space to slow down, turn inward, and reconnect with yourself. Throughout the retreat, you will spend time with horses and in nature, supported by structured meditation and gentle guidance.
Silence creates a rare opportunity to meet yourself without the usual distractions. So much of how we understand ourselves comes through our interactions with others. When that constant feedback falls away, you are left with the simple experience of being with yourself.
In that stillness, the labels that usually define us begin to soften. Questions of identity, age, gender, or status lose their grip, and what remains is a clear, quiet space where reality can be seen more directly. From there, it becomes easier to notice where growth is needed and what may be holding you back.
Silence also changes the way we relate to others. Often, we carry old wounds that shape our reactions without us fully realizing it. These patterns can make us feel as though we need to control everything around us, but silence helps reveal where those reactions truly come from. With support through deep, structured meditation, you are given the space to feel, process, and release what has been stored भीतर.
As anger, grief, or irritation are no longer projected outward, they can be met and healed. Over time, the mind becomes calmer and clearer, like still water. In that clarity, peace, joy, compassion, love, and creativity become more accessible, and you may feel lighter, more aligned, and deeply at ease.
Sunnycote, 39 Silverdale Road, Arnside. LA23 2EL
You will stay in a spacious Victorian house near the sea in Arnside. The area of Arnside and Silverdale is officially recognized as being of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the edge of the Lake District National Park. A short walk takes you to the bay, where you can enjoy views of the Lake District mountains, along with nearby forest and hills.
The house accommodates 16 guests in total, but for this silent retreat, bookings are limited to 10 people. This helps create more peace and space, reduces pressure on the kitchen and bathrooms, and gives 4 guests the option of a private room.
Decorated in a quirky bohemian style, the house offers many places to sit and rest, including a completely private walled garden. There are also plenty of books to enjoy, and in your free time you are encouraged to walk, swim, and journal.
There is a train station within walking distance of the house, with a short train journey from Lancaster. Arnside is also close to the M6: leave the motorway at Carnforth and continue for around 15 minutes along country lanes. The nearest airport is Manchester, with regular trains from Manchester to Lancaster, then a change to Arnside.
You must arrive at 4pm on Day 1. You will have one hour to check in, dinner is served at 5pm, and the welcome circle begins at 6pm, finishing around 9pm.
