EXTEND YOUR STAY IN THE AMAZON
GIFT YOURSELF THREE EXTRA DAYS OF AMAZONIAN NATURE AND CULTURE
Add three more days to your Feather Crown retreat and discover more of the surrounding region through carefully chosen excursions. This extension is a chance to experience the Amazon more deeply, visiting both well-known highlights and hidden places in untouched nature, while also getting closer to the daily life and culture of local communities.
Travel with us into the native rainforest and feel the presence of wild nature in one of the few places on earth where it still follows its own rhythm. The Ecuadorian rainforest is such a place. Our intention in creating this journey is to offer a direct encounter with the beauty of the pristine forest, its harmony and balance, and its life-giving energy. We hope this experience will help you connect more deeply with nature and better understand its importance in your own environment. Along the way, nature and the journey itself may also offer insight into yourself.
Omar, a guide who is also part of the Feather Crown team, grew up in the forest and will share many fascinating insights that help you connect more naturally with the spirit of the rainforest. You will also be accompanied by our facilitator and interpreter, Barbara.
DATES: September 27-29, October 25-27, November 22-24
ITINERARY
Day 1
In the morning, your Ayahuasca retreat comes to an end. Afterward, enjoy a hike around the center, visit the sacred stone on the Piatua River, see the petroglyphs, and take in the view of Llaganantes National Park. The afternoon is reserved for rest and packing. Overnight stay at Feather Crown.
Day 2
After breakfast, depart between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. Visit Jumandy Cave, a large and beautiful cave complex named after the hero Jumandy, who defended the country from colonizers. Next, continue to a viewpoint with, weather permitting, a beautiful panorama of the Andes. From there, walk to a waterfall and into the rainforest. You will also learn about the indigenous garden and traditional crops. Swimming in a clean river may be possible. Dinner will be prepared by local people. Overnight at Pakay hostel on the outskirts of Tena in single or double rooms.
Day 3
Travel to a community and animal rescue station, then transfer to Ahuano. Enjoy a canoe ride on the Napo River to the Chocolate Factory, where you will see a demonstration of traditional organic chocolate making and prepare your own chocolate. Continue to the Waysa Wasi community for a demonstration of dance and natural fiber production. Cross the Arajuno River to AmaZOOnico, a rescue station for wild animals that are later released back into nature. In the evening, take a walk along the promenade in Tena, visit the viewing tower and a shop with traditional products, and perhaps share dinner together in town. Return to Pakay hostel. The program ends on Friday evening, and accommodation with breakfast is provided until Saturday morning.
