Success in this course depends on dedication, self-motivation, and a sincere commitment to the path of yoga. Because yoga practice and teaching call for discipline and purity, all participants are expected to take part fully in every spiritual activity, meditation session, lecture, and asana class. To protect the integrity of the learning environment, anyone who does not follow the guidelines may be asked to leave the course.

Refund Policy: Advance course fees are non-refundable. In emergency situations, students may reschedule and join another available batch. If a student cancels after joining, no refund will be issued, though there is no extra cancellation fee. We strongly encourage students to reflect carefully on their commitment before making any payment.
Rules for Students: Discipline, respect for teachers, and punctuality are essential. Late arrivals will not be allowed to enter class. If you are fasting on any day, please inform the kitchen manager in advance to avoid food waste. Before leaving Gurukul Yogashala, all outstanding dues must be settled and any borrowed books, maps, or other items must be returned. Accommodation is reserved only for students enrolled in the yoga course; friends and relatives may arrange separate lodging nearby. All students are expected to join every scheduled program and activity at Gurukul Yogashala.
Prerequisites: Gurukul Yogashala is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School at the 200 and 300 level. After completing the 85-hour course, you will receive a Yoga Alliance credential that allows you to teach prenatal yoga anywhere you choose.
What will I learn: This training offers more than asana instruction. You will explore the philosophy behind the practices, gain hands-on experience, and learn how to bring yoga into your own life in a meaningful and effective way that can also support others.
Safety Guidelines: The program includes guidance on safe teaching and wellness, including posture contraindications, trimester-based modifications, and general health considerations for each mother’s unique circumstances. You will also learn techniques for offering appropriate emotional support throughout pregnancy.
Curriculum: The postnatal yoga and pranayama section covers topics related to both vaginal and C-section births, including postpartum depression, care for mother and baby, optimal postnatal nutrition, breastfeeding positions, gentle abdominal and back stretching, Sun Salutations in kneeling and standing variations, and exercises designed to restore strength and wellness after birth. The postnatal program uses carefully planned movements to rebuild core strength and stability, supporting progressive recovery after either natural delivery or caesarean birth.
Benefits: Prenatal yoga training addresses the specific needs of pregnancy with trimester-based asanas, breathing techniques, meditation, and ayurvedic principles. These practices can help reduce stress, ease physical discomfort, balance hormones, and deepen the spiritual connection between mother and baby while preparing body and mind for delivery. Postnatal yoga supports healing after birth, physically and emotionally. It may help with postpartum depression, rebuild core and pelvic floor strength, support healthy eating and breastfeeding habits, increase energy, and create space for bonding with the newborn while staying physically active.
Cost: The 7-day Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training Course starts at USD 299 for international students and INR 19,999 for Indian students. Private room pricing is USD 499 and INR 29,999. Both options include meals and a certificate of completion.
Accommodation: Accommodation is available at the same price as the course fee. Students can choose between private and twin-share rooms, both with private bathrooms and mountain views. The package includes a 6-night stay, two nutritious meals per day, herbal teas, filtered water, Wi-Fi, and yoga materials.
Combined Course: Gurukul Yogashala also offers an 85-hour combined prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher training in Rishikesh for instructors who want to teach prenatal yoga. The curriculum follows the mother’s full journey through pregnancy, from pre-conception through each trimester, including labour preparation and recovery.
When to join: Multiple sessions are held each year. Upcoming start dates are the 2nd of each month in May, June, July, and August 2026, as well as the 24th of each month from April through August 2026. Each program runs for seven days, and seats are usually available for most upcoming sessions. Early registration is recommended to secure your place.
