Take the next step in your yoga practice and in your life. Byron Yoga Centre is one of the longest-running yoga teacher training schools in Australia, with more than 30 years of experience offering accredited training in both the practice and philosophy of yoga. Our courses are designed for those on the teaching path, as well as anyone who wants to immerse themselves more deeply in all aspects of yoga.
All Level 1 courses are registered with Yoga Alliance for 200-hour accreditation.
This flexible option is ideal for busy people. Part A is a fully residential immersion, giving you seven days to eat, sleep, and deepen your passion for yoga. Part B is then completed by correspondence, at your own pace.
Held in beautiful Byron Bay, this training offers a supportive and comprehensive foundation for your yoga journey. It includes accommodation and meals, and on completion you will receive 200hr RYT recognition. It also contributes toward your 500hr RYT pathway, with 40 days required in total.
When you choose yoga teacher training, you want to feel confident in the experience guiding you. As one of the country’s longest-established yoga schools, and a Registered Training Organisation since 2009, Byron Yoga Centre offers premium qualifications in yoga teaching with a strong reputation for quality and care.
Our teacher trainers are experienced, well-trained, and passionate about supporting both your professional development and personal growth.
Reflecting the holistic approach of our signature Purna Yoga style, our training is thorough and well-rounded. The curriculum covers the many dimensions of yoga, including detailed study of postures, breathing techniques, meditation, philosophy, and ethics.
We also maintain a high standard of education through a strong team of resident and guest senior teachers with expertise in areas such as anatomy and physiology, yoga philosophy, women’s health, ayurveda, and kirtan.
We believe the best way to learn how to teach is to teach. That is why our courses place strong emphasis on practical experience, helping you leave with not only a deeper understanding of yoga, but also the confidence to begin teaching.
Students gain early exposure to teaching real public classes, not just practising with fellow trainees. By the end of the course, you will have been involved in at least 12 hours of open public class teaching, with a strong focus on learning to teach safely.
With decades of experience and a relaxed yet disciplined approach, Byron Yoga Centre offers a learning environment that is both supportive and professional. Many trainees describe the experience as transformational, deepening their practice, broadening their understanding, and inspiring meaningful change in their lives.
