Held in Byron Bay, the Level 1 200hr Yoga Teacher Training options include 20-day, 12-day, and 7-day formats, plus online study. On completion of Level 1, students receive 200hr RYT recognition, with 40 days required for the full 500hr RYT pathway.
When choosing yoga teacher training, it matters to know you are learning from a school with depth and credibility. Byron Yoga Centre operates as a Registered Training Organisation and offers premium qualifications in yoga teaching. Their trainers are experienced, well-prepared, and committed to supporting both your personal growth and professional development.
Grounded in the holistic approach of Purna Yoga, the curriculum is broad and thorough. It includes detailed study of postures, breathing techniques, meditation, philosophy, and ethics, alongside a strong academic foundation in anatomy and physiology, yoga philosophy, women’s health, ayurveda, and kirtan.
A defining feature of the training is its practical focus. The course is designed to help you not only understand yoga more deeply, but also gain the confidence and real teaching experience needed to begin teaching safely and effectively.
Trainees begin teaching public classes early in the course and, by the end, will have participated in at least 12 hours of open public class teaching. This hands-on approach ensures you learn in a real-world setting, working with actual students rather than only practicing with fellow trainees.
Many trainees describe the experience as transformative, with the training offering far more than technical knowledge alone. It can deepen your practice, strengthen your understanding of yoga, and inspire meaningful change in daily life.
Students consistently highlight the school’s strong foundation, balanced teaching style, and supportive atmosphere. Many leave with a deeper appreciation of meditation, pranayama, and philosophy, along with a renewed sense of clarity and confidence in their practice.
