This spiritual journey through Peru is designed for travelers who want to go beyond the surface and connect more deeply with Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and the country’s living traditions. You’ll visit a local community near Chinchero, discover the Andean way of life, and explore some of the most remarkable Inca sites in the valley.
There is also more time to enjoy Aguas Calientes, the village beside Machu Picchu, and take in its unique atmosphere at a more relaxed pace.
Day 1: Arrival in Cusco
When you arrive at Cusco Airport, we will transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to rest, acclimate to the altitude, and settle in at your own rhythm. No activities are planned for today.
Day 2: Historic Walking Tour in Cusco (Half Day)
After breakfast, we will pick you up for a walking tour through Cusco’s historic center. With a local guide, you will visit some of the city’s most iconic highlights, including the main square, the famous 12-angled stone, the Sun Temple of Qoricancha, and the traditional San Pedro market.
Later, you’ll have free time to continue exploring the city and choose from the many local restaurants on your own.
Day 3: Local Community Experience with Andean Traditions & Gratitude
After breakfast, we will travel to Umasbamba, a welcoming community near Chinchero. Here, you will take part in hands-on workshops that offer an authentic look at Andean daily life and traditions. You’ll learn about farming practices, potato and alpaca cultivation, watch weaving demonstrations, and, depending on the season, join volunteering activities such as harvesting, helping with house construction, caring for animals, or weaving.
After a local lunch prepared by a family in the community, we will take part in a Mother Earth Offering ceremony led by our knowledgeable shaman from the Q’eros community. This meaningful ritual is a moment to give thanks for the abundance in our lives. In the afternoon, we continue to Ollantaytambo, where you will spend the night in a comfortable hotel.
Day 4: Inca Ruins – Ollantaytambo – Waterfalls of Aguas Calientes
After breakfast, we will visit the impressive archaeological site in Ollantaytambo, with beautiful views over the valley. From there, we take the train to Aguas Calientes. This small town near Machu Picchu has a special charm, and you’ll have time to relax at the hotel or explore on your own.
Later, we meet our guide and visit the lovely Alcamayo waterfall, about a 20-minute walk from the center. This activity depends on your preference and the weather, so it can also be decided spontaneously if you prefer to spend more time in the village. At the waterfall, we will pause for a mindful moment to connect with Pachamama, or Mother Earth. It is one of the quieter, less crowded places in Aguas Calientes.
Afterward, you can unwind, enjoy the local restaurants, and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco
After breakfast, we will take a 30-minute bus ride up to the ancient Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. After passing the checkpoint, we will explore this World Wonder in depth. Our local guide will share fascinating insights into Inca history and the purpose of Machu Picchu, and there will be time for photos and to fully experience the atmosphere of the site.
Later, we return by bus to Aguas Calientes, have time for lunch (not included), and then board the train back to Ollantaytambo/Poroy. Our transfer team will meet us there and bring us back to Cusco.
Day 6: Cusco – Farewell
After breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport for your domestic flight.
