As summer gives way to autumn, join family, friends, and neighbors for a memorable evening at the Himalayan Institute’s Harvest Moon Festival. Framed by the shimmering waters of Sunset Pond and the apple orchard, this cherished fall gathering offers a chance to slow down, appreciate the season, and enjoy the simple pleasures that make autumn so special.
When the sun dips below the horizon and the harvest moon begins to rise, the campus fills with music, laughter, and the welcoming energy of community. It is the kind of evening that families look forward to and return to year after year.
Stroll through the orchard for family-friendly apple picking, join in traditional apple cider making, and sample fresh cider throughout the evening. Warm apple crisp made on site brings the scent of fall to the air, while apple-inspired mocktails add a festive note for guests of all ages.
Children are invited to explore, play, and take part in hands-on harvest traditions, while adults can unwind, reconnect, and take in the beauty of the season unfolding all around them.
Live bluegrass music creates a relaxed and joyful atmosphere by the water. Gather around the bonfire to share stories, laugh with friends, and enjoy the glow of firelight beneath the rising moon. Whether you arrive with family, meet neighbors, or connect with new friends, this festival is all about coming together in a way that feels natural and genuine.
Stop by the mobile café and bookstore for seasonal treats and Himalayan Institute favorites while you enjoy the crisp autumn air.
The Harvest Moon Festival is more than an event. It is an invitation to pause, celebrate the season, and share an evening that feels grounded, joyful, and deeply human. Bring a blanket, bring your loved ones, and experience fall the way it was meant to be enjoyed.
