Set in the beautiful Banyoles and Girona region, this holiday brings together two passions: cycling and yoga. You’ll stay for seven nights in a 17th-century Catalonian homestead, surrounded by ancient stone walls and orange trees, with access to a swimming pool and the nearby lake at Banyoles for crystal-clear open-water swims. The area is known for iconic climbs such as Rocacorba and Montserrat, as well as quiet rolling roads and excellent tarmac and gravel routes that attract cyclists from around the world.
The program includes five days of guided cycling and five days of yoga each week, with morning and evening sessions. One day is kept free for extra riding, rest, or exploring the local culture. Everything is optional, so you can make the week as active or as relaxed as you wish. Road, gravel, and electric bikes are available to rent, all beautifully maintained.
No one is left behind. Rides are designed for a range of abilities, with options for both shorter, easier outings and longer, faster efforts. The yoga is tailored to cyclists and athletes, while still staying true to the tradition. Experienced practitioners will also find depth, inspiration, and space for a more intensive personal practice.
This holiday is ideal for active people who enjoy cycling, yoga, good food, and a warm social atmosphere. It works well for cyclists of all levels and can also be enjoyed as a pure yoga holiday. Non-cycling and non-yoga partners are welcome too, since participation in every part of the program is optional.
Solo guests are very welcome. You can choose a shared room to keep costs down or a single room for added privacy. If you would like to be paired with a roommate, support can be arranged.
Some prior yoga experience is recommended, as this retreat is not intended for complete beginners. A short beginner’s course before arrival would help you get even more from the week. The practice draws from Sivananda, Ashtanga, and Iyengar traditions.
Girona Airport is only 35 minutes away, and shared taxi transfers can be coordinated at around €60 split between guests. If you are arriving by train, the TGV from Paris to Girona connects with the TEISA E1 bus via Banyoles, which takes about 30 minutes. Pickup from Banyoles can be arranged. If driving, head toward Banyoles and follow signs for Porqueres; the entrance is just past Les Estunes Restaurant, marked as Rocacorba Cycling on Google Maps. Secure parking is available on site.
You will stay at Can Campolier, 1734, a charming 17th-century Catalonian homestead in Porqueres, Province of Girona. The property features ancient stone walls, an orange grove, a swimming pool, and the warm light of the Costa Brava hinterland. Check-in is from 2pm on Saturday, and check-out is by 10am the following Saturday.
Each room has an en-suite or private bathroom. Facilities include a sauna, a large outdoor swimming pool, bedroom safes, hairdryers, WiFi throughout, and yoga equipment provided for all guests. Massages can also be booked on site. Toiletries such as locally produced shower gel, shampoo, and moisturiser are supplied in the bathroom.
Meals are local, seasonal, and generous. Expect hearty brunches before the ride, three-course evening dinners, and afternoon tea with homemade cake. One evening includes a meal out locally. Most dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice. An honesty bar is available, and drinks may also be purchased with meals at an additional cost.
High-quality road, gravel, and e-bikes are available from Rocacorba Cycling, with hire starting at €75 per day and reducing to €55 per day for a six-day hire. You are also welcome to bring your own bike. Good-quality padded shorts are essential, while the rest of your kit can be whatever feels comfortable. In warmer weather, a light cotton shirt may be more practical than a lycra top.
Across the week, there are four morning yoga sessions of 60 minutes and four evening restorative sessions of 90 minutes. Morning practice begins at 07:30 and evening sessions at 17:15. Depending on the weather, yoga takes place either outdoors in the Dutch barn or inside the main house. All yoga equipment is provided.
Outside the program, Banyoles lake is perfect for swimming and paddleboarding, while the medieval town holds a weekend market. Nearby highlights include the Dalí Museum, Girona’s old quarter, and several small medieval villages. A well-stocked village shop is open daily from 08:00 to 19:00. Cash is useful for lunches, hot chocolates, the honesty bar, massages, dinner out, staff tips, and taxi costs on arrival.
Most days follow this rhythm: 07:30 meditation, pranayama, and morning yoga; 08:30 breakfast; 10:00 guided bike ride; 17:15 restorative evening yoga; 19:30 dinner. Thursday is a rest day with no guided ride and no agenda.
